5.1 Democracy

The USA today is not a democracy, but an Oligarchy, run by the Elites in government and Big Business. This means that your ‘democratic’ vote is becoming meaningless because your representatives are chosen by the Elites prior to you voting for them. The result of this is that democratic representatives are beholden to their donors and support legislation that benefits Big Business and not the people who voted for them. Research has shown that in the USA over 70% of new legislation is not supported by the population.
